Gray Whale Cove State Park

Have you ever had an inspiring day? It was sunny in San Francisco when he hopped in the  car and drove to Montara, five miles passed Pacifica. We decided to hike a trail from the Weekend Sherpa Adventure contest (http://www.weekendsherpa.com/stories/first-ever-weekend-sherpa-adventure-challenge) and chose the Grey Whale Cove two mile loop, which was so mild, you could walk it in flip flops. It's nice to know a local spot to eat after a nice hike; our spot is Barbara's Fish Trap in Princeton, about 15 minutes south of Montara. There's usually a 40 minute wait, but we prefer to order the fish n' chips and crab sandwich from the to go window and eat at one of the yellow griddle tables, bundled up in our  puffy jackets and look out at the calm water and boats; keep your eyes on the birds who want a taste of your lunch. On the way back to the City, stop at Lindamar beach, roll up your pants and dip your feet in the icy cold water. After you get used to the shock of the temperature, it's quite nice and healthy for healing joints. We felt refreshed after our afternoon adventure and returned to San Francisco relaxed and ready for a hot shower and peaceful sleep!
